The Unrestricted Electives allow you to customize and decide on your preferred education pathway, be it taking up a 2nd Major or Minor within or outside of NUS Business School that are appealing and of interest to you.
COMMON ADMISSION:
A GATEWAY TO 9 MAJORS
In NUS Business School, students are accepted and enrolled into the 4-year Direct Honours BBA degree programme. A student who has yet to choose their preferred Major before entering NUS Business School will have ample time to discover their area of interest or passion as they only need to decide and declare their Major after reading 4 semesters.
BBA CURRICULUM: A GUIDED JOURNEY OF DISCOVERY
The Common Curriculum invites you to embark on a journey of self-discovery whereby students get to take up the Business Environment Modules where students are able to learn what are the areas within the Business Environment we have to consider whenever we make Business decision. Students would also be able to take General Education Courses, a Field Service Project, a Work Experience Milestone and a Global Experience Milestone to expose them to learning outside of school.
The Major Curriculum is made up of Business Function Courses and Major requirement courses. These Business Function courses expose the student to the major to help students think about which major are they genuinely interested in and which area would they want to specialise in when they work in a business. Major requirement courses allows you to take courses for the major that you would like to pursue amongst the 9 majors available. This would take up a majority of a student’s curriculum.

Work Experience Milestone
To equip undergraduates with workplace-ready skills prior to graduation. This is welcomed by prospective employers.
- Career Compass Starter Workshops, which are conducted by BizCareers during the first and second years. The workshops prepare the students for securing internships and graduation job.
- One full-time or part-time approved internship. Internship can also be credit-bearing with credited units that can be used to count towards fulfilling degree graduation requirements.
Global Experience Milestone
BIZ students would get the opportunity to explore a foreign country and experience a different academic, work, social and/or cultural environment. This aligns with Singapore’s positioning as a global/regional business hub in which more future job roles will be regional or international in nature.
- The student needs to complete a significant and approved overseas experience.
- Financial assistance is available for financially-challenged students.
Field Service Project
A consulting practicum in which students form teams to solve a real-world business-related problem for a company or other organisation over one to two semesters. This is done with the guidance of a NUS supervisor. The business-related problem may be one of organisational strategy, marketing strategy, accounting information system, human resource training programme, etc. The students often must take a cross-disciplinary approach to come up with the solution.
