• Core Modules

  To fulfil the requirements of the B.B.A. (Acc.)/B.B.A. (Acc. Hons.) programme as well as to satisfy all the coursework requirements for the professional Accountant qualification, the 120/160 MCs read by B.B.A. (Acc.)/B.B.A. (Acc. Hons.) students will consist of the following modules:

• Honours Programme

  Honours students have to take another 40 MCs worth of modules that will include an Honours Dissertation (12 MCs), compulsory Field Service Project (8 MCs) and another 20 MCs of Unrestricted Elective requirements. • Unrestricted Elective Modules

  Students may take any modules to fulfil the “Unrestricted Elective Modules”. That is, they may take modules offered by the School of Business and/or modules offered outside the School to fulfil this requirement.

• Compulsory Internship

  B.B.A. (Acc.) and B.B.A. (Acc. Hons.) students must also complete an accounting-related internship. Please refer to the link below for more information about the accounting internship.

• Specialisation

  The University Level Requirement (ULR) is a graduation requirement.

  (a) For cohort 2014/15:

  The ULR consists of (a) 2 General Education Modules, (b) 1 Singapore Studies module and (c) 2 Breadth: Electives outside Business School.

  General Education Modules cover two broad subject groups:

  Subject Group A: Science and Technology

  Subject Group B: Humanities and Social Sciences

  Students from BBA(Acc.)are required to read at least one General Education Module from Subject Group A, including polytechnic diploma holders who are granted advanced placement for one General Education Module.

  (b) For cohort 2015/16 onwards

  The ULR is currently in the process of being reviewed. Full details will be available in due course.

  Additional elective modules may be introduced as and when necessary. At the moment, the elective module available is as follows:

  ACC4611 Advanced Taxation

  B.B.A. (Acc.) and B.B.A. (Acc. Hons.) students must also complete an accounting-related internship. They can expect to study and work without vacation breaks from the second Monday in August to the second Saturday in May during their third year, when they will integratively complete ten fixed Accounting modules as well as the full-time employment internship via a modified academic term structure.
