Summer/Winter Programmes
In addition to the regular semester Student Exchange Programme, students can also participate in the Summer/Winter Programmes to gain international exposure. The Summer Programmes will take place during the school vacation from middle of May to late July. The Winter Programmes will take place in December.

Application
From February each year, emails will be sent to business students who are eligible to apply for the Summer Programmes administered by NUS Business School.
Students can also check out the NUS Global Website regularly for instructions on how to apply for each Summer/Winter Programme administered by NUS Global.
Important Notes
- NUS Business School does not support programmes that extend into the new academic semester; LOA will not be approved for such cases.
- Students in their final semester of their degree are not eligible for Summer/Winter Programmes.
- To be eligible for credit transfer,
- the programmes take place in person; online/hybrid programmes do not qualify for credit transfer.
- course must be mapped to a NUS course
- course taken must be graded, not on pass/fail basis.
- Course mapping does not equate to credit transfer.
- For foreign BBA/BAC students planning to join the Summer/Winter programmes to fulfil GIS or GEM, participation in your home country will not count towards the graduation requirement. Refer to the GIS/GEM Infopage for details.
Credit Transfer for Summer/Winter Programme Courses
With effect from AY2025/2026, students may transfer credit of up to a maximum of 10 units for each summer programme and up to a maximum of 5 units for each winter programme. Course mapping will be subject to approval from the respective Faculties/Schools.
A total of 12 Units from a maximum of 2 Summer/Winter Programmes may be transferred without having to pay NUS tuition fees. Additional units mapped will be subject to special term fees.
After completing the Summer/Winter Programme, students are to submit their official transcript to the Student Exchange Team by 15 April or 15 October for credit transfer processing.
Similar to the Student Exchange Programme, courses taken during the Summer/Winter Programmes must be graded even though they are not considered for computation into the GPA.

Students are to take note that credit transfer is only allowed for Summer/Winter Programmes administered by NUS (Business School, GRO, or other NUS faculties). Credit transfer is not permitted for programmes not administered by NUS.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Does the Business School support summer programmes that conduct segments that spill over into the NUS semester? Can I apply for a Leave of Absence to attend this summer programme?
The Business School does not support any summer programme which extends beyond the NUS school vacation, so the Leave of Absence will not be approved.
- Will the Business School approve course mappings for summer programmes that extend beyond the NUS school vacation?
The Business School does not support any summer programmes which extend beyond the NUS school vacation, so the course mapping request will not be approved.
- Does the Business School support winter programmes lasting 2 weeks?
Yes. With effect from AY2025/2026, students may transfer credit of up to a maximum of 10 units for each summer programme and up to a maximum of 5 units for each winter programme. Course mapping will be subject to approval from the respective Faculties/Schools.
- For summer programmes commencing in July, when is the latest date to submit course mapping worksheets via EduRec?
Students may submit course mapping worksheets via EduRec as late as July.
- Are there subsidies provided for the summer programmes?
The grant for summer programmes will only be confirmed in June. If it is available, it will only be a small amount.
- The embassy requires a letter from the university to verify my student status and participation in the summer/winter programme. How do I request for this letter?
You may apply for the letter here as stated on NUS Global’s website.
- What is the procedure for credit transfer upon return from the summer/winter programme?
Please submit your summer/winter programme official transcript to the Undergraduate Studies Office. Please note that hybrid/online programme are not recognised. Courses taken must be graded, not on pass/fail basis.
- During the summer semester, I took a special term at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) to undertake two military courses with SAF-NTU Academy. I would like to map these two courses back to NUS. Please advise on the procedure for credit transfer.
Please submit the NTU transcript to the Undergraduate Studies Office for credit transfer by 15th October.
